This term was my first attempt at animation. Over the term,
I learned how to animate via frame-by-frame and tweening, create and implement a
walk cycle, and composite a whole piece into a single video. The projects I
finished include:
“Ball
Bounce,” a simple, two-character looping animation with sound;
“Maggie
Mage Visits a Rock,” an introductory tweening animation;
“Ghostaroo,”
an introductory frame-by-frame animation;
“blm gif,”
a single-character loop;
“Walk
Cycle,” a single-character looping walk cycle with scrolling background, and;
“Sad
Death,” a one-minute frame-by-frame animation made with storyboarding.
In my final project, "Sad Death," I progressed through the entire process of planning a story, making a story board, timing, an animatic, and then finishing the animation itself. I also made several layers of background and sound. All these things I am still very green with, but I feel like I made a lot of progress in learning how to do them. In total, this project took about four weeks to complete.
